With all the smiles and love in the air, it’s no surprise the majority of weddings take place in the month of June! Summertime = happy time. So, what better season is there to make adorable summer-inspired crafts?

Why not try making some of these fun and easy summertime crafts and give your home an even brighter and colorful atmosphere.

1. Backyard Mason Jar Lights
Introduce your backyard to its new best friend, fairy lights inside hanging mason jars! This is the perfect craft that you can enjoy throughout the summer. They are extremely easy to make and the reward is a brand-new backyard atmosphere that looks like it comes straight out of a romantic movie scene.

2. Lemonade Drink Umbrellas
Those fancy little cocktail umbrellas can rack up quite the bill if you’re hosting lots of summertime parties and grill-outs. Make your own using restaurant doilies, toothpicks, and a few drops of hot glue. A nice touch to your glass of homemade lemonade.

3. Hole-punched Paper Plates
Hole-punched paper plates bring on a whole new era of buffet-style backyard barbecues. Never juggle your plate, cutlery, whilst trying to serve yourself again with this nifty summertime craft. Simply hole-punch the side of your paper plates to tie twine (or burlap string) around a napkin and the utensils to hold it all together. It’s as useful as it is cute!

4. Outdoor Handkerchief Garland
Hang up those unused, vintage-themed handkerchiefs sitting in your kitchen drawer to create a unique garland to string across your backyard. Mix and match the linens and tie with brightly colored ribbon to create a truly laid-back, country farmhouse-style backyard. Just don’t forget to bring them in when the summer showers arrive!

5. Lawn Pillow Cushions
Wait! Don’t throw out those old, unused pillows! Instead, turn them into a 3-pillowed lawn cushion so you can wiggle your toes in the fresh grass without your legs getting all itchy. With three cushions, some sewing skills, and waterproof vinyl fabric, you can create the perfect summertime craft.

6. DIY Yard Ring Toss
Turn your summer craft into a backyard game for plenty of fun with friends and family. With an empty crate and empty bottles, some crafting paint and woodworking techniques, you can craft your own DIY yard ring toss! The perfect summertime craft (and game) to enjoy at parties or with kids.

7. Make Handmade Kites
Kites are such a fun pastime to enjoy with both children and adults alike. Get out your best crafting tools and whip together a homemade kite to fly around when you go to local parks, the beach, or when you’re just hanging out in the backyard.
